Fazal Hamid received his Bachelor of Laws in 2012 from the University of Tasmania, Australia and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2014. He is a senior associate of IRB Law LLP.
Fazal’s practice as a litigation lawyer encompasses civil, criminal and matrimonial law. Fazal’s experience in civil litigation includes, amongst other things, contractual disputes, breaches of directors’ duties, debt recovery and claims involving insurance (personal, motor and work injury). Fazal’s experience in criminal law include sexual offences, drug offences, money laundering, unlicensed money lending, house breaking, theft and fraud. Fazal also represents various clients on a myriad of matrimonial disputes including contentious civil and Syariah divorce, maintenance as well as personal protection orders. He has also appeared before the MUIS Board of Appeal.
Fazal also does non-contentious work such as the drafting of commercial contracts, wills (civil and Muslim), powers of attorney and applying for letters of administration / grant of probate.
Fazal is a member in the Muslim Law Practice Committee and as member, has represented the committee in giving talks to litigants in person at the Syariah Court where he shared his knowledge on topics such as divorce proceedings, family and children related issues.
