Fazal’s main areas of practice revolve around commercial, family, probate and criminal matters.
Fazal is passionate about getting the best outcome for his clients. Since getting called to the bar in 2014, he has appeared in numerous open court contested trials from the High Court, State Court, Family Justice Court, Syariah Court and MUIS Appeal Board of Singapore.
He also undertakes non-contentious matters such as the drafting of wills, power of attorney, grants of probate, letters of administration, adoption and mental capacity. He is also familiar with employment law and providing advice on commercial contracts.
He is an accredited Singapore mediation centre (SMC) and Singapore international mediation institute (SIMI) mediator. He is also an accredited member of the chartered institute of arbitrators (MCIArb).
Fazal holds a Master of Laws (with Merit) specialising in international dispute resolution from the University of London. Fazal also holds a Master of Human Resource Management and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Murdoch. Currently, he is pursuing two diplomas in Islamic Studies and in Syariah law.

Arbitration practice:
- Successfully obtained an arbitral award constituted under the Law Society Arbitration Scheme.
Civil practice:
- Successfully defended a claim against a previous employee for damages from an alleged breach of employment contract at the High Court in breach of a non-compete clause, breach of confidence and conspiracy to injure.
- Successfully defended committal applications for alleged breaches of court order at the High Court and at the State Court.
- Successfully defended a defamation claim requiring the Plaintiff to pay costs to the Defendant.
- Acted for the Plaintiffs in numerous enforcement applications such as bankruptcy, garnishee, writ of sale and seizure, examination of judgment debts.
Criminal practice:
- Successfully securing reductions and/or a withdrawal of charges and/or discharge not amounting to acquittals for various accused persons through representations and CCMS.
- Successfully persuaded the Court not to order forfeiture of S$25,000.00 from a bailor when the accused absconded.
Family practice:
- Successfully overturned decisions given at the Syariah Court before the MUIS Appeal Board ranging from care and control orders, orders concerning nafkah iddah / mutaah and the division of matrimonial assets.
- Successfully resisted applications by Child Protective Services pursuant to section 5 of the Children and Young Persons Act.
- Successfully obtained care and control of 2 minor children (aged 6 and 4 respectively) to the Father.
- Successfully resisted relocation application by a parent intending to relocate to another country bringing along the minor child of the marriage.
- Successfully obtained discovery order against the Plaintiff to release information pertaining to her INVEST scheme before the Syariah Court of Singapore.
