Adam Sitara (Tara)

Adam Sitara (Tara) is an Associate at IRB Law LLP. She graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2023.

Tara is a litigation lawyer whose practice focuses primarily on family and matrimonial law. She advises and represents clients in both contentious and non-contentious family matters, including divorce, the division of matrimonial assets, maintenance, child-related proceedings, the variation and enforcement of court orders, and Family Dispute Resolution mediations. She understands that family disputes are often deeply personal and is committed to guiding clients through the legal process with empathy, clarity and practical advice.

Alongside her family law practice, Tara has experience in civil and commercial litigation, appellate proceedings, cross-border family disputes, arbitration-related matters, contractual disputes, employment claims, probate and estate planning. Her experience includes proceedings under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards, and enforcement proceedings such as Mareva injunctions, Writs of Seizure and Sale, Examination of Judgment Debtor proceedings, Writs of Delivery and committal proceedings. She has appeared with lead counsel before the Appellate Division, the High Court and the Family Justice Courts, and is recognised for her strong legal research, analytical and drafting skills.

Outside of practice, Tara is committed to serving the community. She contributes to the Ministry of Social and Family Development as a Volunteer Member of the Triage Assessment Panel, having previously served on the Panel of Advisors under the Vulnerable Adults Act and volunteered with the Singapore Girls' Home.
