Being totally ignorant of Muslim intestacy laws left me in a quandary when my husband passed. Tried to navigate things on our own with Google while trying to manage big feelings. Needless to say time, money and effort were wasted, and we gave up pursuing the matter for awhile.I was thankfully referred to IRB Law. I was met by Mr Muhammad Aadil Bin Dafir, our assigned solicitor and later, his paralegal Maryam Shah.It was the first time after meeting with a couple of lawyers from other firms earlier, that I felt at ease and confident that here we had a lawyer who understood our issue and would look after our interests. He explained the procedures clearly, as to be understood by one who was overwhelmed by the bureaucratic process.Paralegal Maryam was always forthcoming with updating and following up on queries I had.The whole process took nearly 6 months. I am not sure if this is the norm but we were happy to have the matter finally resolved.With regards to payment, we were not expected to pay in full at the start. It was done in monthly instalments till the end of the case.

Azri was assigned to us during investigation phase of our case. I found that Azri knows both the legal system and how the police work internally very well due to his background as DPP. Based on police action and how the statement was taken, he was able to predict the outcome of the case. Although our case was dopped by the police eventually, i would not hesitate to recommend Azri to whoever need legal advice and representation. He is not the cheapest but worth the money. Many thanks to Azri and his team for an excellent job done.

In December 2023 my nephew who worked in Singapore got tangled with the law with 2 allegations against him. We here in Malaysia thought this will be resolved quickly. However, it dragged on till March 2024. Without a job and accommodation my nephew was stranded in Singapore. I approached IRB Law LLP regarding rental dispute (as a tenant), and was connected to Subra, a professional, honest, and capable lawyer with in-depth knowledge of Singapore real estate law. He resolved all my issues with patience and precision of a real professional.Initially, I had zero knowledge of my rights as a Singapore tenant, and found myself having to deal with negligent agent and landlord (e.g. place had no hot water, and turning on an electric appliance would short circuit the entire house, etc). Furthermore, agent was extremely unprofessional and difficult to deal with (e.g. he would say "I will never say I will not fix it, I just won't say when"). Landlord/agent would also later deny our right to renew the Tenancy Agreement under the same terms and conditions even though this was written clearly into the Tenancy Agreement.Subra provided step-by-step guidance on how to navigate these issues. Specifically, we were able to resolve much of the critical defects uncovered with the house (e.g. got the agent to fix the hot water not working issue, etc), and was in the end able to renew our tenancy per what was agreed in the Tenancy Agreement.I would not hesitate to recommend Subra's services. Singapore law favors landlords. Agents also have little accountability and can be notoriously unethical because they know they can get away with it. They also are aware that tenants often are not familiar with their rights. Hence, lawyer like Subra evens the playing field and helps to give you a fighting chance to secure what's fair for you.

i was facing a stressful time when i did my house construction project last year. Owing to my naivety, i entered into a loosely worded contract which was skewed to the contractor’s benefit. As such, and predictably so, i faced many issues pertaining to misrepresentations of added structural works by my contractor, shoddy workmanship and unnecessary demands of money for works that should have been covered by the contractor. Approached IRB Law for the procedure of getting an affidavit notarised. Coordinated the entire process via WhatsApp and the entire team was a joy to work with. Process of getting Certify True Copies (CTC) by IRB law firm was seamless from the 1st contact till it was done. I shared my distress with Lawyer Sathiya thru watsapp and phone. Lawyer Sathiya was very kind as he spent long time explaining the best way to pursue my case and best way was thru CDRT since its neighbor harassment. Civil suit wouldn’t give me best outcome. This is not online with his business profit. But lawyer Sathiya have the integrity and helpfulness no other business minded lawyers will have. Engaged IRB Law for my HDB POA. I believe it was the most value for money service in the market and was fairly surprised that the process was so effortless. I called IRB on 15 Nov in the morning and a call was arranged on that same afternoon with Mr Baiross. A whatsapp group was set up to discuss and send documents. He was very empathetic to my situation, gave very good advice and offered many options and solutions for my case. I went to I.R.B Law because I had issues with my landlord in Singapore after handover.The landlord refused to refund me agreed security deposit which was substantial (more than five thousand dollars).I did an inspection and handover with real estate agent (represents landlord) at the end of November 2020, and signed the Release Form. The agent was interim, he didn't bring the Inventory List for check and was constantly talking to the actual agent. The landlord wasn't there. Total mess to say the least.The landlord came a week after and "found issues" in the apartment, started charging me for things I wasn't aware of. Just like that, out of the blue. Accused me of negligence and refused to communicate with me directly. I didn't like this attitude and didn't agree to pay for this after handover, so I went to I.R.B Law for advice. Markus Kng assessed my situation and created the Letter of Demand to be sent to the landlord via physical delivery and email.Although, both the agent and landlord were completely unresponsive, just waiting for me to leave Singapore, I managed to extend my pass and filed application to Small Claims Tribunal.It took 2 months of waiting till the date of consultation in SCT, but it payed off.During all this time Markus advised me on my course of action and SCT case preparation. Also, my kudos to Valerie for swift communication handling.Thank you for your professionalism and overall support.

I had issue with my previous landlord who suddenly stop to reply to me after i left his place, about the deposit.I have check online how to solve this kind of issue, and very fast markus reply me, and gave me solution, letter of demand. It not work 100% of time, but it really can help to solve this kind if issue and IRB are doing great job for this.im very satisfy and recommend their service. Im just sad that we have to reach this extent, it seems that some landlord are not so good. Dont give up, contact IRB, they will help you as they did for me.

Mr Baiross and his team were very helpful in recovering a small debt for me. A lot of firms turned me away as they said it was a small amount and going through small claims tribunals would be ideal as goods and services were involved. But Mr Baiross decided to help me and recovered the debt with a letter of demand. Within an hour, data was collected in relation to the case by Mr Baiross and the next day his team, Mr Maricar & Ms Gina, wrote and sent the letter. Ms Sujatha conducted two public service talks on the MRHA and Sedition Act - one in February and one in March. She was very engaging and the participants learnt so much about the laws that dealt with racial and religious harmony in Singapore.
